Players reach them by pressing the string to the left of its bridge, which bends the pitch up (按音 ànyīn), or by moving the bridges to retune. In her words: "I need to adapt it for the guzheng scale and use the right plucking techniques."

3. 表现技巧。左手按音、摇指以及双手配合演奏。从这一步开始，弹流行歌曲才成为可能。The expressive techniques. Bending notes with the left hand (按音), the tremolo (摇指) and playing with both hands at once. This is where pop songs start to become possible.
